Booking Policies

Important things for the performers to know about Communication:

  • Communication is an all-ages, sober space at all times. This includes the performers and volunteers, within our building and our parking lot.

  • Our COVID-19 safety plan includes the following restrictions for all upcoming events:

    • Building capacity is 35 people (including the performers)

    • Masks are required to be worn indoors at all times

    • Performers are allowed to unmask in our space during their set, provided all performers have agreed to this. We will gladly continue to accommodate performers who wish to remain masked while performing.

  • At Communication we try to foster as safe a space as we can for everyone that comes through. Before booking a band, make sure that no one in the band falls under this list:

    • Physically crossing anyone's lines of consent

    • Predatory behavior, harassment, racism, classism, sexism and ableism

    • Promotion of hate speech

    • If someone has done any of the above, then some steps must be taken before they can play at Communication. The details of this can be worked out between the managers of Communication and all involved parties.

  • Communication generally does not work with contracts or payout guarantees. Communication keeps 30% of the night’s revenue from admissions, and the remainder is to be split among the acts.

  • Any concerns from the performers about set times or pay should be addressed via the booking email before the show is confirmed.
