Alex Cunningham is a violinist, improviser, and visual artist based in St. Louis, MO. His recorded output spans free improvisation, drone, noise, and minimalist composition. Cunningham has recorded with Lisa Cameron, Damon Smith, claire rousay, Chris Trull (under the Apathist! moniker), Mark Shippy, Thom Nguyen, Patrick Shiroishi, Jessica Ackerley, Seth Andrew Davis, Sandy Ewen, and Weasel Walter. Past collaborations include the groups Vernacular String Trio, Hess/Cunningham Duo, and Hardbody. Cunningham has released music on Close/Far Recordings, Personal Archives, Already Dead Tapes and Records, Fort Evil Fruit, Working Man Lay Down, Orb Tapes, Astral Editions, Infrequent Seams, Industrial Coast, and Astral Spirits.

Lisa Cameron (Austin, TX) uses amplified/acoustic percussion and strings, locating resonant frequencies in space to create oscillating overtones employed as sound sources for live improvisation. A Texas improv stalwart, Cameron has performed live with Rocky Erickson, Jandek, Eugene Chadbourne, Mike Watt, Faust, claire rousay and many more.

Bob Bucko, Jr. will present a new set exploring the textures of the bass clarinet using contact mics. Through sampler manipulation of dog and human heartbeats, dense polyrhythms emerge and mesh with glacial drones and synthesized reeds.

Battalion of Cloudships is a multidisciplinary performance art ensemble of one and many utilizing aspects of theater, comedy, free improvisation, noise, drone, sound and space design to take the audience on journeys both inward and outward. Each performance is uniquely curated as a piece of a larger whole, a page of script from an ongoing and expanding lore.
