Chicago group Glad Rags joins us for a stop on their thirty date summer/fall tour in support of their debut LP All of Them. Produced by bandleader Mabel Gladly, All of Them was released through label Sinkhole Sounds and mastered by Jake Viator (Jerry Paper, MNDSGN, Julia Holter). The concept album navigates cancel culture, gendered violence, and community responses to healing in the arts scene. The narrative hops between various perspectives to emphasize the ripple effects unchecked harm has on people and those who love them. Soaring harmonies soften the blow, and a deep love and hopefulness for humanity are echoed by those who helped mold this art pop concept album over the last three years.
The debut LP from the Chicago collective playfully tip-toes along the evolutionary lineage of the analog to digital soundscape - the early '80s globalization of disco, lounge pop of the '90s, and soulful mid '70s ballads are threaded together through delicately woven arrangements. Glad Rags embroiders disparate influences into a cohesive art pop mosaic that celebrates the depth of human emotions and the robust potential of community care.
The core members write and arrange collaboratively to create an original blend of psych rock, disco, new wave, electronic, chamber pop, and experimental jazz. Joined by up to fourteen collaborators on their studio projects, Glad Rags keeps their live shows raw with high-energy interpretations of their songs that truly defy genre.

The songs of Bear In The Forest howl with spiritualism. It is built around folk music in the oldest, barest sense: joy and pain and a guitar coming together to produce sounds that resonate with ancestral memory. Bear, a.k.a. Alberto Kanost, has been writing and preforming songs under this moniker for about a decade, beginning when he was 15. Now at 24, he has had multiple iterations of bands and worked with two different producers to release two projects and a handful of singles. His collaborators and producers come and go, but it seems to always come back to just Bear and his guitar. In live performances, magic happens, and it's a challenge to capture it in recording; the music comes from what some would describe as a spiritual channelling that can be hard to recreate in studio settings.
After Bear's recent graduation from UW-Madison in 2020, BITF released a second project, showing growth in songwriting and a ever-shining vocal prowess. Bear In The Forest songwriting elaborates on thoughts in topics like mental health, nature, war, death, loneliness, love, and heart-break, but always holds onto a sense of joy.
