Influenced by an eclectic mix of music from around the world, Jordan Kowalski has developed a unique voice that sounds as at home in avant-garde contemporary music as it does in the deeply rooted traditional. He believes music has the power to bring people together and believes he will always be a student as much as he is a teacher.
Jordan has performed music across the United States with a number of outstanding ensembles including the Neophonic Jazz Orchestra of Madison and the Frost Latin Jazz orchestra. In 2020 Jordan’s band Two Jackets received a DIG Jazz series recognition from the Madison Music Collective. Jordan currently teaches the jazz band at Vel Phillips Memorial High School, and assists in teaching Music 103 at the University of Wisconsin. He has held teaching positions at the University of Miami's "MusicReach" program and Guitars Over Guns Nonprofit, in addition to public K-12 and private studio teaching. Jordan's compositions have been featured by the Frost Repertoire Jazz Band, and the Mosinee Community Symphonic Band.
