JUSTICE CLUB…

…is a service-learning art project for all ages of artists who want to empower others by expressing themselves! We provide supplies and guidance for participants to create collage pages that illustrate who they are as art-makers and members of the community.

In the Summer of 2021, we hosted Justice Club Camp at Briarpatch Youth Services!

Justice Club was created by Grace Olson and Araceli Zuniga. Collages created in Justice Club workshops prior to quarantine were compiled into zines to be sold in the Communication shop. All proceeds from the zines go towards nonprofits promoting justice. To look through one of the zines, click here.

Grace Olson is a childcare worker, mixed media artist and musician based in Madison. She uses her work to unpack feelings of nostalgia, anxiety and introspection, cultivating energy to channel towards self-care and activism.

Araceli Zuniga is a Latina illustrator based in Madison and Milwaukee, whose work focuses on cultural, body and mindful empowerment. She is a member of the L.U.N.A (Latinas Unidas En Las Artes) collective, a Milwaukee based group of Latinx artists who support each other in pursuing visibility and opportunity.

MAY, 2020

We missed seeing our friends from our workshops and have been wanting to make something for you folks at home. So we thought: VIRTUAL JUSTICE CLUB!!!

For our first ever virtual workshop we read Tar Beach by Faith Ringgold and had folks make art off of some prompts. A huge thanks to the SASY Neighborhood Association for making this possible through their grant program.
