Print & Resist Zinefest 2023

Come celebrate the 20 year (!!!) anniversary at the Central Library in downtown Madison, WI. This event is free and open to the public.
We are especially excited to celebrate this year with you as we ring in the 20th anniversary of this incredible community event! In addition to the fest we will commemorate the occasion with a retrospective MP&R poster exhibition at Central Library & a social gathering with live music by The Stolen Sea, beverages and friendship at the Bur Oak. Madison Print & Resist Zinefest is a day-long festival of political print media, zines, experimental publications, and prints related to the world of art, do-it-yourself culture, and political action. The event brings together subversively creative print/media artists including zine makers, printers, poster-makers, and other self-published artists and writers to share their work with the Madison area community.
Organizing Team
The Print & Resist organizing team is made up of individuals and organizations who believe in the importance of creative expression for all through the medium of print. This year’s organizing team includes Communication, The Bubbler at Madison Public Library, UnderBelly Madison, and Artworking—along with a handful of other unaffiliated artists and organizers. Everything brings a little something to the table…
Communication is a nonprofit dedicated to fostering a vibrant creative community. Communication is committed to curating an all ages sober space for all forms of artistic expression. We intentionally try to create as safe of a space as we can for everyone that comes through. Communication’s goal is to facilitate an artistic community that can reach throughout the Midwest.
The Bubbler at Madison Public Library is a hub for creative expression amongst people of all ages through art creation and appreciation, engagement with new and old-school technology, and hands-on making. The Bubbler Room hosts partner workshops, houses the current artist-in-residence, and acts as an open art studio for anyone and everyone during open library hours - with free access to supplies, equipment and expertise!
UnderBelly Creative + Collective is a boutique design agency serving small businesses, startups, and creatives. Underbelly builds long-term partnerships with clients, providing the needed designs as they grow.
ArtWorking is a Madison area nonprofit providing career development and support for artists & entrepreneurs with disabilities. Their vibrant community of artists are highlighted throughout the state in state in fairs, exhibitions, and teaching residencies.
The other individual artists, organizers, library-lovers, and zinesters alike who are a part of the MP&R organizing team help round out our efforts by bringing in new ideas, energy, and perspectives.
